George Lavin, Jr., a founder of the firm, is of counsel in the Industrial and Consumer Product Liability Practice Group in the Philadelphia office of Lavin O’Neil Ricci Cedrone & DiSipio. During his years of practice, Mr. Lavin tried major law suits for Fortune 500 clients in approximately 26 states and territories. He was actively engaged in mentoring aspiring trial lawyers through his work in the firm, and in law schools and professional organizations.
Mr. Lavin is affiliated with many professional and client-related associations. He is a fellow, American College of Trial Lawyers; member, International Association of Defense Counsel; faculty member and dean, International Association of Defense Counsel Trial Academy; and adjunct professor, LLM program in trial advocacy at Temple University. In 2006, he co-authored a book on trial advocacy.
Mr. Lavin is active in community, religious and corporate organizations. He serves as Counsel to the Province of St. Thomas of Villanova, Order of St. Augustine; chairman of the board of directors, Augustinian Press, Inc.; member, on the board of directors, Medifast, Inc.; and is the former chairman of the board and a current advisory board member, Siloam Ministries.
Mr. Lavin graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Finance from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law in Philadelphia. Mr. Lavin is a graduate of the FBI Academy with a designation as Special Agent. He served in the Counter Intelligence Corps of the United States Army as a Special Agent.
